Since its inception in 2012, Brave Hearts for Strong Minds has retained the same logo that we started out with. Those familiar with Brave Hearts for Strong Minds for any period of time will know that BHSM’s mission started in 2012 after a beloved community member, Tom Reilly, suddenly passed away leaving behind his wife and four young children. Tom was a man who gave his all to the community and in his honor, we strive to continue that tradition of care for others. BHSM’s original logo was inspired by Tom’s musical and carpentry skills while also highlighting his generous heart in which he provided for those in need.
As 2020 has changed a lot of things around the world, we felt that our Brave Hearts for Strong Minds logo could use a more modern look going into 2021. A big thank you goes to Sam Cooper! Despite the more modern look to our logo, we wish to always remember our roots as an organization, and keep the memory of Tom Reilly alive through our work. To stay in line with the values that our mission is based on, our newly redesigned logo retains the features that remind us of Tom Reilly, such as the guitar commemorating his love for music, as well as the hammer that represented his carpentry skill (just with a little extra accent).
In addition, to our logo update, we have also revamped and redesigned our website. Including implementing a new donation system, that will hopefully make the donation process simple for our friends and community members supporting our mission. A special thank you goes to our intern, Michael Gipson `21 from Chestnut Hill College for his hard work in setting up our new website.
We hope that with the advent of our new logo and new website, our organization can begin looking towards the future and continue to provide support for families in need to honor Tom’s memory.
As always you can find updates about our organization here on the website, under our new “Blog” section, or on our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
Thank you continuing to support BHSM.
Be Brave!
