Thank you for your continued support of Brave Hearts for Strong Minds (BHSM)! Your support and generosity are the reason we’ll be coming together as a community to help another recipient family in need at our 8th Annual Event on June 20, 2020, at Fort Washington State Park in Flourtown, PA.
We are thrilled to announce our 2020 Annual Walk Recipient: The Moher Family!
In February 2018, the Moher family was given unexpected news, mother and wife, Amanda was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. After almost a year and a half battle, Amanda passed on June 13, 2019. She left behind her husband Dan, and three children—Evan (4) and twin girls Dylan (3) and Stella (3). A special education teacher for the Philadelphia School District, Amanda was a stout advocate for her students, who were often from low-income backgrounds. She will forever be an inspiration not only for her students but her coworkers, friends, and most importantly, her family.
Amanda left behind a community built on compassion and love. She personified everything that prompted the community to start Brave Hearts for Strong Minds. We cannot possibly hope to heal the hole in the Moher family’s hearts. But as a community, we can offer support to Evan, Dylan, and Stella, by helping to make the education their mother would have wanted for them possible.
Consider registering, donating, or sponsoring to help us raise funds for Evan, Dylan, and Stella’s 529 education plans. With your help, we can be brave together and help these three wonderful children reach their future goals.
Your unconditional embrace of our recipient families is what strengthens the bonds of our community and encourages our new members to follow your generous lead in donating to our cause, sponsoring the event, or volunteering.
